Why this directory exists
I have spent more than two decades in web development and SEO, working with everyone from local startups to national brands. When a homeowner in British Columbia looks for solar, the results mix specialist installers with electricians, roofers and heating companies, with no easy way to tell who puts panels on a roof.
This directory is my answer to that. It starts from the British Columbia businesses that Google files under a solar category, sorts them city by city, and reads each company's own website to see what it does. Companies that confirm solar installation are marked and sorted first. Companies that do not install solar at all are left out. Where a website does not say, the listing says "not enough info" rather than guessing.
If you are a homeowner, build a short list here, then call with the questions from the buyer's guide on the home page.
How listings are vetted
Every listing starts from a Google Maps record filed under a solar category. Many electricians, roofers and heating companies carry one as a second category, so they are included too. We keep British Columbia businesses that are open, have at least one review and were updated in the last twelve months, and we merge duplicates.
Then we read each business's own website. Where the site shows the business does not install solar, such as a metal roofer, a window film company or a drone inspector, the listing is left out. Where the site confirms solar installation, the listing says so and sorts higher on its city page. Where the site does not say either way, the listing stays and says "not enough info" instead of guessing.
Right now that is 76 solar energy contractors in 10 British Columbia cities, last refreshed 2026-10-11.
Owners can claim their listing for free. Every claim is checked by a person: a real local business, a matching email domain or a call to the number on the Google listing. Paid placements are marked as featured, premium or best-of wherever they appear.
